The iPhone, a revolutionary smartphone, was introduced to the world by Apple Inc. in 2007. Its impact on the technology world cannot be overstated. Here is a brief history of the iPhone from its inception until the present day.
2007: Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the first iPhone in January. The device had a touch screen, could make phone calls, send texts, take pictures and browse the internet. The first iPhone ran on AT&T’s network and started at $499.
2008: Apple released the iPhone 3G, which introduced the App Store, a platform that allowed users to download and purchase third-party applications. This move set the tone for the future of mobile applications and sparked a new industry.
2009: The iPhone 3GS, which featured a better camera and faster processing speed, was released. The same year, Apple launched its mobile operating system iOS 3, which included features such as copy and paste and MMS messaging.
2010: Apple released the iPhone 4, which had a high-resolution “Retina” display, a front-facing camera and a stainless steel band that doubled as the phone’s antenna. The same year, Apple released its first iPad tablet.

2020: Apple released the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, which featured 5G connectivity and a new design. The iPhone 12 Mini and 12 Pro Max were also released. The same year, Apple introduced the MagSafe feature, which allowed for wireless charging and the attachment of accessories to the back of the phone.
